There are a lot of online thrift apps, but none feel like both a shop and pseudo-social media, making it hard for users to show their fashion styles. My partner, Samuel Katwatsure & I designed a thrift app that includes a range of social functions, from public clothing libraries to a swipe & shop feature.

Online Shopper Interviews

We interviewed customers in millennial & Gen Z age ranges who frequent online clothing apps to get the pros & cons they face when shopping for clothes online.

We found that they prefer an easy, streamline experience with clear accessibility to reviews, information on the product, and organizational features/filters. They disliked an overload of information, apps with little personality & too many steps to perform any action.

Demo Test

My partner & I analyzed our two competitors webflows, Depop and Cotton On. From there we were able to construct our own similar web flow with a few changes to minimize the number of clicks & dragging a user does to get to their destination.

Afterwards we created a small demo app with minimal context and sent the demo over to previous interviewees. Overall, all were major fans of the simplicity & easier flow, but wanted all the navigation, visual & type elements to pop out more.
